The Mahābhārata is widely considered to be one of the greatest epics of all time. Over 200,000 verses long, it is the longest epic poem ever written in the history of mankind. It is also the origin of the sacred Vedic text, the Bhagavad Gita.
The Mahābhārata is full of deep meaning and eternal significance. Without a guide, it can also be intimidating and difficult to follow and remember all of the many story lines and characters.
In this 4-week course, Swami Chidananda will guide you through the most important stories and characters of the Mahābhārata, and how to learn from this great epic to bring positive transformation and Bhakti into our lives.
This course will give you the tools to:
- Understand the most important characters and story lines within the Mahābhārata leading up to the Bhagavad Gita.
- Become familiar with important names and lessons often shared by Paramahamsa Vishwananda in His satsangs and commentaries.
- Grasp the deeper meaning of the characters and situations of the Mahābhārata in a way that helps you to advance on your spiritual path.
- Learn how to use your deeper understanding to navigate the "dharma sankatas", or moral dilemmas, that we face on a daily basis.
- Have a deeper appreciation and knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita itself.
