Meditation is a supreme state of focus that engages our whole being.

When the subject of your art is a Divine Form, the Lord holds your attention and draws you closer to Him.

The more time you spend focusing on an image of the Divine, the easier it is to visualize during meditation.

Paint the Divine into being

Join Karunavidravad Dasi for a 3-hour, Level 1 Painting Meditation workshop focused on Narasimha, the half-man/half-lion Avatar of the Supreme Lord, Narayana. We will also enjoy a satsang on Paranitya Narasimha from Swami Tulsidas!

In celebration of Paranitya Narasimha Jayanti, we will be using a special Paranitya Narasimha coloring card!

During this session, we will dive into a short presentation on Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s teachings about Narasimha, related saints, temples, bhajans, and artworks.

We’ll then talk about the importance of painting in Bhakti Marga, and some introductory art techniques.

You will then be guided through a one-hour coloring meditation, allowing you to connect with the deity in your heart.

We will end with a sharing session and information about how you can deepen your devotional art practice.

Upon registering for the course, you will be sent a printed coloring card of an image of Paranitya Narasimha. As this is an introductory course, you will be guided through using art materials in order to color in the image.

**Countries outside the USA please use the Bhaktishop to purchase your coloring card**

We invite you to choose the art materials you feel most drawn to: colored pencils, crayons, chalk pastels, and watercolor pencils are all recommended to use on the coloring card. While acrylic, oil, or watercolor paints will not work well with the type of paper you’ll be provided, we hope you use this opportunity to play with any materials you may be interested in. We will try to answer any questions you may have regarding the different materials during the course.

Our one request, as guided by Paramahamsa Vishwananda, is that you make an effort to find vegan art materials, that do not contain animal products or have been tested on animals. Two major brands we recommend are Derwent and Faber-Castell. Also, here is a good list of vegan art material brands, if you’d like to look further:

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions, as you are considering which materials to buy!
